The institution and installation of the Reverend Abigail Sines as incumbent of the Trim and Athboy Group of Parishes and Dean of Clonmacnoise took place in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Trim yesterday evening in a joyful service led by the Bishop of Meath and Kildare, the Most Reverend Pat Storey.
Parishioners, visiting clergy and guests gathered in large numbers to welcome Dean Abigail and to pray for God’s blessing on this new chapter in the life of the parishes.

Dean Abigail brings to Trim and Athboy a depth of pastoral experience and theological reflection, including previous ministry as Dean’s Vicar at Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin. Her academic and pastoral work has engaged with themes of welcome, hospitality and community.
The service marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Trim and Athboy Group of Parishes. In the coming weeks and months, there will be many opportunities to meet Dean Sines, to share hopes for parish life and to support her as she settles into her new role.
Dean Abigail will lead her first services of Holy Communion at 10am in Athboy and 11.30am in Trim this Sunday, 1 February, as we celebrate Saint Brigid.
Parishioners are encouraged to keep Dean Sines and her husband Karl in their prayers as they settle into life in Trim and Athboy.
