Holy Week services

Palm Sunday, 14 April
There will be a united service at 10am in St James’ Church, Athboy. There will be no service in Trim on that day, as the parish has been invited to pre-record the Easter Sunday service for broadcast on RTÉ 1 (for those attending the recording in RTÉ studios, the bus will depart from the Diocesan Hall at 12.15pm).

Wednesday, 17 April
There will be Holy Communion in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Trim at 10.30am and Evening Service in St James’ Church, Athboy at 8pm.

Maundy Thursday, 18 April
The Eucharist will be celebrated in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Trim at 7.30pm.

Good Friday, 19 April
The annual Ecumenical Walk will begin at 12pm at St Patrick’s Church in Trim. There will also be services at 2.30pm in St James’ Church, Athboy and at 7.30pm in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Trim.

Easter Sunday, 21 April
Easter Sunday services will be held at the usual times of 10am in St James’ Church, Athboy and 11.30am in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Trim.

Parish Notices

The Pilgrim Course participants will meet on Tuesday 2 April at 7.45pm in The Deanery.

On Wednesday 3 April, there will be a service of Holy Communion at 10.30am in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Trim and at 8pm in St James’ Church, Athboy.

The next Lenten soup lunch will take place at 1pm on Thursday 4 April in the Diocesan Hall in Trim.

Confirmation classes continue on Friday 5 April at 5.15pm.

There will be a meeting of the Select Vestry at 8pm on Friday 5 April.

Kildare Cathedral will host a ‘Mind Yourself’ charity concert with the Discovery Gospel Choir on Sunday 7 April at 6.30pm. Tickets are €15 and can be purchased at the door. The concert will mark the launch of a Diocesan project to raise mental health awareness and all funds raised will be donated to Aware.
