In connection with the diocesan mental health project, there will be a walk and picnic for the rural deanery including Mullingar, Castlepollard, Dunboyne and our group of parishes on Saturday 31 August 2019. We will meet at the Diocesan Hall at 11.30am for a walk lasting around one hour. People are asked to bring their own picnic, which we will have back at the hall.
There will be a coffee morning on Sunday 1 September after service to raise funds for repairs to Fazal Memorial Church, Alomahar, Pakistan. The church recently suffered storm damage.
An outing is planned for Wednesday 11 September 2019 to Hillsborough Castle. The cost will be €35 including tea, coffee and scones and this must be paid for in advance by Sunday 25 August 2019 as tickets need to be booked and paid for. Please inform Jennifer McKenna if you wish to join us. Bus departure times are 8.45am (Athboy) and 9am (Trim).
The Fuchsia Appeal in aid of ex-Defence Service personnel who are homeless or in need of support is now live. Refer to the literature at the rear of Trim Cathedral for more information.
There will be a concert in St James’ Church, Athboy on Monday 29 July featuring the United Methodist Choir from Vista, California and local choir, CREDO. Tickets cost €10 and are available at the door.
The next retirement outing will take place on Tuesday 6 August to an exhibition of couture at the museum of style at Newbridge Silver. There will also be a tour of St Brigid’s Cathedral. Please inform Jennifer McKenna if you wish to attend.
The Clonmacnoise Service will take place on Sunday 28 July at 4pm. The preacher will be Rt. Revd. Patrick Rooke, Bishop of Tuam.
